About Ms. Letha
Childhood is more than a stage—it’s the foundation. That’s why every day at Letha’s Kids Care is designed with purpose. From the meals we serve to the activities we plan, we’re creating experiences that shape how children see the world and themselves.
Over these 30+ years in the field, my passion has never changed. I am truly blessed to continue serving families and being a part of their children’s lives.
Childcare has always been my passion. I became a licensed babysitter at just 13 years old. By my early 20s, I was volunteering at the YMCA’s afterschool program, where I served for two years. In 1997, I landed my first job at a childcare center as a school-age assistant. Over the next six years, I advanced to preschool assistant, toddler assistant, and eventually lead toddler teacher.
When that center closed, I transitioned to a new center and continued working as a lead toddler teacher for three years. Wanting to grow further in the field, I earned my CDA in preschool and became certified in 2005.
In 2010, I launched my own in-home daycare as a Type B provider, caring for just six children at a time. As the need grew, I expanded to serving up to 40 children in a full 24-hour, 7-day-a-week program.
In 2017, I opened a licensed Type A center, caring for up to 80 children each week. During the 2020 pandemic, I started my first small early preschool, BrightStart, with my oldest son. By the end of 2021 and into 2025, I opened two more centers—Creative Kidz Connection with my best friend, and Unique Kidz Care Learning Center.

Letha’s Kids Care offers a home-away-from-home feel for families who prefer small group care.
BrightStart Early Preschool supports families looking for a structured small-group learning environment.
Creative Kidz Connection is a larger center that uses a developmental approach, helping children grow at their own pace.
Unique Kidz Care Learning Center, our largest program, was designed for children with developmental delays, ADHD, ADD, and other diagnoses. We’re currently developing a special sensory room to support our children with unique developmental needs.
About Lethas Kids C.A.R.E Program
At Letha’s Kids Care, we’re passionate about helping children grow through meaningful communication, hands-on engagement, and purposeful play. We guide each child as they transition into the next stage of development by using a curriculum that focuses on individualized weekly educational goals. These goals are designed to create positive, age-appropriate interactions that support learning and development through structured and free-play experiences.
We are a home-based family childcare program that feels like a center, but with a smaller, more personal touch. We offer both traditional weekday care and flexible weekend hours to meet the needs of working families, shift workers, and parents with non-traditional schedules.
Our entire focus is summed up in one phrase: “We do it all for the kids.”
As a Gold-rated program through Ohio’s Step Up To Quality system, we are proud to exceed the state’s basic licensing standards. This highest-level recognition reflects our commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment, and continuously improving our teaching practices. At Letha’s Kids Care, quality isn’t just a goal — it’s a standard we live by every day.
Our approach is rooted in play-based, constructive learning that invites children to explore, imagine, and discover through hands-on activities. Children thrive through circle time, free play, group activities, social skills development, fine and gross motor activities, reading time, outdoor play, and nap/rest time — all woven into their daily routine with care and intention.
